# Ask the Gita > Ask a question about life, duty, work, grief, anger or the mind and get an answer drawn only from the Bhagavad Gita, with every sentence citing chapter and verse and every quotation checked word for word against the text. Read and search all 700 verses free. URL: https://ask-the-gita.skillsafe.ai/ ## What it does - Finds the relevant verses in the browser: the full text ships with the page and is ranked with BM25, with everyday words mapped to the translation's vocabulary ("stress" to grief and anxiety, "job" to action and duty). Verses named in the question ("2.47", "chapter 6 verse 35") and verses the reader pins are always included. - Shows the reader exactly which verses will be sent, and lets them remove or pin any, before anything is paid. - Sends only the question and those verses to the model. The model must cite `[chapter.verse]` for each sentence about the text and quote each cited verse word for word. - Checks the reply in the browser: references to verses that were not sent are flagged, uncited sentences are underlined, and each quotation is marked verified, close or not found. Clicking a reference opens the verse with the quoted words highlighted. - Keeps a gentle "reflection" for everyday life visibly separate from what the text says. - Read & search mode: all 18 chapters with Sanskrit and English, full-text search, verse of the day. Free, no sign-in, no network calls. ## Text Annie Besant, The Bhagavad-Gita, 4th edition (1922). Public domain: published before the US cutoff of 1931; the translator died in 1933. Transcribed by Wikisource. Translator's footnotes and the word-by-word gloss are omitted. ## Pricing Reading, searching and the saved example answers are free. A new question is one metered run paid from SkillSafe credits - no API key needed. The page shows the reserve before the run and the actual charge after; the charge is usually far below the reserve. ## Limits - Answers come only from the verses sent with a question. It does not report commentary traditions, historical dating or authorship, and says so when asked. - It is a study aid, not religious, medical, legal or financial advice. A question suggesting crisis is answered with a pointer to local emergency help first. ## API Programmatic access: https://ask-the-gita.skillsafe.ai/api.html - input fields `question` (required), `verses` (required, one `[c.v] Speaker: text` line per verse), `answer_length` (`short` | `detailed`), `conversation`, `retry_note`. Output: labelled text sections STATUS, ANSWER, VERSES, REFLECTION, FOLLOW_UPS.
